Canning Day

Ping! Sing the canning jars.

I love that sound!

5 quarts of pickled carrots.

6 quarts of dilly beans.

2 quarts and 1 pint of soup carrots.

1 gallon of blueberry wine...

140 heads of garlic curing

The cucumbers are really on the vine. They will be ready for pickles in a few days. The zucchini will be abundant any day now which means the dehydrator will be hard at work.

This is the "good busy" time of year.

Our cukes are trying to catch up. We planted them beneath the peas thinking the peas would have been ripped out weeks ago and the cukes would thrive. Then we forgot about them. Ooops!

We finally ripped out the peas and found the cukes, hopefully it will be warm enough this week for them to get some growth on!

Wow! And here I was feeling good about my three pints of pickled beets, eight pints of zucchini pickles, two loaves of zucchini bread, and the dried herbs :).

If you're setting the standard, I have some catching up to do :).

I pulled most of the beets and (finally) all of the garlic, and we planted some broccoli and spinach. It'll be fun to see what happens with the fall garden. I've tried them in the past, but tend to neglect them - hopefully, not this year, though.
